Decision Management Solutions is led by James Taylor. James has over 20 years experience in developing software and is the foremost thinker and writer on decision management.
Ryan Trollip is CTO and VP of Services for Decision Management Solutions. Ryan has over 20 years in consulting leadership and has been leading decision management implementations for over 15 years overseeing and building decision automation systems and products.
Gagan Saxena is VP Solutions and a Principal Consultant for Decision Management Solutions. He is an experienced CIO and an expert in designing and implementing decision management systems with more than 20 years in business technology leadership.
James is the founder and CEO of Decision Management Solutions. He is the leading expert in how to use decision modeling, business rules, and analytic technology to deliver Digital Decisioning. James is passionate about helping companies improve decision-making and effectively adopt advanced analytic technology. He provides strategic consulting to companies of all sizes, working with clients in all sectors to adopt decision making technology. James has spent the last 20 years working in decisioning and has led Decision Management efforts for leading companies in insurance, banking, health management, and telecommunications.
James is the author of “Digital Decisioning: Using Decision Management to Deliver Business Impact from AI” (MK Press, 2019) and “Real-World Decision Modeling with DMN” (MK Press, 2016) with Jan Purchase. He previously wrote and Decision Management Systems: A practical guide to using business rules and predictive analytics, Process and Decision Modeling with BPMN/DMN with Tom Debevoise and Smart (Enough) Systems: How to Deliver Competitive Advantage by Automating Hidden Decisions (Prentice Hall) with Neil Raden and he has contributed chapters on Decision Management to multiple books, including Applying Real-World BPM in an SAP Environment, The Decision Model, The Business Rules Revolution: Doing Business The Right Way, and Business Intelligence Implementation: Issues and Perspectives, as well as many articles to magazines. In addition to strategy and implementation consulting, James delivers webinars, workshops, and training. He is a regular keynote speaker at conferences such as the Business Rules Forum, Predictive Analytics World, and IBM’s Business Analytics Forum. He is a Faculty Member of the International Institute for Analytics, and the author of a popular blog on Decision Management (JT on EDM).
James was previously a Vice President at FICO where he developed and refined the concept of decision management. The best-known proponent of the approach, James helped create the emerging Decision Management market and is a passionate advocate of decision management. He understands how companies buy and use these technologies, and he has helped companies successfully adopt these technologies and apply them in the context of Business Process Management and Business Intelligence initiatives.
Ryan Trollip is CTO and Vice President of Services of Decision Management Solutions and the founder of DecisionAutomation.ORG. He joins the team as an ILOG alumni with over 20 years in consulting leadership experience across South Africa, the UK and the US where he calls Massachusetts home. Over the last 10 years, Ryan has built and lead decision management and enterprise architecture practices worldwide and successfully delivered some of the largest and most complex decision management solutions in leading Fortune 500 companies; implementations including Next-Best-Action, omni-channel systems for multiple Financial Institutions as well as helping MasterCard develop and roll out their industry-leading fraud detection solution. He is passionate about providing consistent, quality solutions that leverage actionable business insights to provide business value as well as clear ROI.
Most recently Ryan lead a team of enterprise architects helping customers achieve business and technical transformations. By leveraging industry methodologies to create blueprints and road-maps he assisted clients with planning and execution of strategic initiatives.
Ryan has spoken with customers at IBM’s Impact and InterConnect conferences, the Building Business Capability conference as well as many regional events across the United States.
Gagan Saxena is VP Solutions and a Principal Consultant for Decision Management Solutions. He specializes in technology-led business transformation in a variety of industries. He has helped organizations with Decision Management Strategy, Big Data & Analytics, Business Process Reengineering, Customer Experience Management, Operations Startup, Mergers & Acquisitions Diligence and Performance Management.
Earlier, as the Chief Information Officer at Apple Leisure Group, Gagan has been responsible for multi-million dollar OpEx and CapEx budgets as he led technology operations for a rapidly growing enterprise across multiple locations and countries. Gagan has set up a Project Management Office and managed several rollouts of SAP ERP systems to locations across the US as well as numerous e-commerce and web implementations. Gagan also created and led a Business Architecture group for business technology alignment and to explore innovations in business and in technology.
Gagan conducts workshops and training on Decision Management Systems and related topics. He has spoken at various events including IBM’s IMPACT, SAP Financial Excellence Forum, SAP’s Blueprint to a Billion, Predictive Analytics Summit, Building Business Capability (BBC) Conference, Cloud Security Alliance, Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), CIO Executive Summit, Hospitality Technology Expo (HITEC), CIO Forum & Executive IT Summit. Meri has extensive international operating experience with Intel, Total SA, Schlumberger, and Ernst & Young Management Consulting, including 14 years working in Europe and Asia – Norway, France, Brunei, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. She has advised enterprise software and technology companies on decision management, positioning, partner, marketing, social media, go-to-market, and commercialization strategy and implementation. She holds a BSEE with honors from the University of Washington, Seattle and an MBA from INSEAD, France.
In memory of Paul Hessinger
Paul was a strategic adviser to Decision Management Solutions. He died in late 2017 and will be sorely missed.
